when i upgraded from m4 to m5 project explorer view when in j2ee
perspective lost it's top level categorization folders (e.g. "Other
Projects", "Dynamic Web Projects", etc.)

(a) was this categorization jettisoned
(b) is there some way to activate categorization
(c) is this categorization supposed to be there and i flubbed the install

thanks,
tony.

Same here. But I didn't upgrade but 1.5M5 is the first version of the 1.5
branch I tried out. I did a completely fresh install of 1.5M5 with all
dependencies including Eclipse. So I think ...

.... it's not (c).

What I consider more problematic than the missing categorization is the
context menu in the J2EE perspective. It doesn't contain some entries I use
quite frequently like "Properties" or "Refresh":
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=128652

How about (d) none of the above :)

I do not believe I did a good job of communicating the current M5 news to this list,
apologies ... but here it is belatedly:

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

This is our M5 build towards our WTP 1.5 release.

It will have a bit different look/feel in the J2EE Navigator, as John as informed the list in a previous post, duplicated here:

Extended Team,

This is just a reminder that the Eclipse 3.2 Common Navigator continues to be a work in progress. Therefore, the project explorer in WTP 1.5 M5 continues to be a work in progress. I'll go ahead and list some of the key things to note:

-We do have java and resource content now, however the java and resource actions are not all there, like open/close project, project properties, open java editor, etc..
-The J2EE content is enabled and should have the new->menu items and open with support.
-Drag and drop is not working.
-Link with editor is not working.
-There is no working set support, so therefore we don't have project groupings, you just see the projects as is.
-Sometimes the projects show up twice.
-There are some refresh issues with creating beans.

Many of these items are already addressed by eclipse in M6 integration builds and we are just awaiting the opportunity to move WTP up to the m6 drivers.

If you have any questions/comments/issues, let me know.

Thanks,

thanks dave!

i knew i should have included a (d) option!

should have been a no-brainer,
since the answers to life's questions are so frequently "none of the
above" :)
