Hello,

after having tried to install BIRT 2.1RC1a under Eclipse 3.1.2 (what
didn't work as well), i deleted all directories containing "*BIRT* from
the plugin and feature directory of eclipse.
After that, i installed BIRT 2.0.1 in the eclipse environment. The
settings for BIRT are available under preferences in eclipse, the views
are availabel as well. The configuration of eclipse does not report any
problems with BIRT.
But the BIRT perspective is not available to select. Even if i started
eclipse with c:\program files\eclipse.exe -clean

How can i really wipe out my old BIRT fragments to get a clean
re-installation.

Any suggestions ?

Holger

RC1 requires Eclipse 3.2.
Try downloading the AllInOne and see if it works on your system.

Hi Jason,

BIRT 2.1RC1a wor.

I would just like to learn, how to get my old configuration back working
on Eclipse 3.1.2 wihtout having to install everything from the scratch.

Somewere in the eclipse environment, some fragments of my failed BIRT
2.1 installation are still avoiding BIRT 2.0.1 from starting up properly.

Is it possible to turn a log-level on during startup from Eclipse ?

Yours,

Holger

Have you tried running eclipse with the -consolelog command?
You can also extract the Birt plugins to another directory and verify that
all the plugins from the original where removed.
