Page Breaks on PDF & nested grids [message #154381] Wed, 19 April 2006 16:30 Go to next message

I'm experiencing a problem with page breaks when the report is rendered in
PDF. This is on BIRT 2.0.1.

It seems that if I place a grid on the report(Grid A), then inside this
grid nest another grid(Grid B). Then if I set Grid B's pageBreakBefore =
Always, the resulting PDF document doesn't contain the page break.

If I put the 2 grids in sequence on the report, and don't nest them then
the page break works as expected.

So my question is, do page breaks only work on top-level components now?
Or is this a bug? The page breaks on nested grids seemed to work ok in
BIRT 1.0.1.

Thanks,

-Kevin

Yes, in 2.0, page breaks work only on top-level elements and rows.

Hi Kevin. It looks like a bug. I had the same problems that's why I am
avoiding the nested grids or grids with tables.

Will this change, or is this a definitive behaviour?
I have a problem similar to kevin's (see my previous message for a
full description).
