Hi,
I'm having problems with projects in Eclipse that I create using the
'Check Out' facility of the inbuilt CVS client.

When I create a project normaly in Eclipse I get all the usuual property
attributes including the 'Java Build Paths' where you can add external
jar's. However if I create a project by checking out a directory from our
cvs repository although it appears as a normal project it does not behave as
a normal project in Eclipse. It does not have the 'Java Build Paths'
attribute in the properties and infact if you try to 'browse' the avaliable
projects in the 'Run' dialogue box the project created via cvs does not even
appear in the list (as though Eclipse does not even recognise it as a
project)!

All this boils down to the fact that I can not seem to be able to run any of
my code via Eclipse when it resides in one of these 'checked out' projects
but I can if I manualy create a project and just point it's source files to
my sandbox.

Can anyone shed any light on what is happening and where I might be going
wrong.

Many Thanks

Tim

Hi,

Do you put the .project and .classpath files into CVS for your projects? If
no, consider this (they contains important information of project type,
builders and classpath).

Use 'Check Out As...' and choose Java project in the project wizard.
