I just installed RC1 and converted a project that compiles clean in 2.1.1.
The problem is with the default linker search paths (/usr/lib being one of
mine). It's not finding libraries that it used to find in the older
version. I would hate for this bug to NOT be fixed as it would be a
regression from a previous release.

The only way that it would be fixed, is if you raise a defect in bugzilla
and provide enough information to reproduce the problem.

In general /usr/lib being on the linker path is an artifact of the compiler,
and it has nothing to do with CDT -- but this may be an exception :-)
