preference that, when I press F3 (to open declaration) the new window
that shows me the declaration I want to see, it only shows me that and
hides everything else in the file. Any suggestions, it's driving me crazy!

Check for a button in the toolbar with the tooltip "Show Source of
Selected Element Only" and make sure it is off.
