I would like some opinions about using an external file such as SVG to
describe the figures in a drawing.

Basically, has anyone done such a thing with any success?
Are there any advantages or drawbacks to this approach?

My personal opinion is it's a waste of time, but it seems the fad today is
to externalize everything out from your source code to make your
application more "flexible."

Any comments are very much appreciated!
