Been using Fedora Core4 and Eclipse (version 3.1) with jdk1.5 for a few
months now without any problems (running kernel 2.6.10 btw). Today
however, after compiling and linking a c++ program in eclipse I tryed to
execute/run the project and the whole computer hangs completely. Cannot
move mouse and no reaction when using the keyboard. Reboot computer and
can use eclipse for a while then it happens again. How can I troubleshoot
this? Anyone else had this problem?

Appreciate any input.

Total longshot, but any possibility that you've got a dying power supply?
I've had problems like that before where only certain (resource-intensive)
software would trigger the problem, and replacing the power supply fixed it.

Just a suggestion from a non-hardware perspective...

Have you looked in your workspace/.metadata/.log file for possible errors
within the eclipses environment?
