I've created bugzilla
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=269992 to track any ideas
for adding logging support to the EMF workflow model. All ideas are
welcome.

Bryan, thanks for bringing this up.. I've done some work in this area;
please see my bugzilla entry. As I mention there, the code I'm
proposing for the AMP project actually has a fair amount of generalized
support for code generation that I'd love to make more accessible.
Let's discuss further if that sounds interesting. I frankly haven't
realy looked at MWE per se as I'm still on oAW 4.3.1 train, but I
gather that much of that made the transition over basically as is..?
