Hi,

I am not sure if this is the right group, but if not then please do
direct me to right one.

We are building product based on eclipse platform (3.3)
2 issues I have with internalization/resource strings:

1. We need to customize some english strings/messages which are coming
from messages.properties i.e. org.eclipse.ui.internal.WorkbenchMessages.

Just wondering what will be the right approach?

2 We want to provide our custom translations in other language (say
German) for same strings/messages.

To try, I created a plugin "org.eclipse.ui.workbench.nl_de" in my
workspace but it didn’t pick it up when locale was de.
But it worked when I downloaded the babel German translation. But again
it didn’t work when I disabled the babel feature/plugin and extracted
babel German translation in my workspace as plugin. What I am missing or
doing wrong?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

When you create a new project in Eclipse, make sure you create a "Fragment
Project" (not a "Plug-in Project") in "Plug-in Development" category. On
the second page of the New Fragment Project wizard, you may specify the
"Host Plug-in" ID. Eclipse will then link this fragment to the host
plug-in.
