Viewer in Tomcat report/images directory [message #114918]

I have installed the BIRT Viewer web application under Tomcat and am using
that to view several reports I have created that include charts. I noticed
that a number of .png image files and designNN files get created under the
{Tomcat}/webapps/birt-viewer/report/images directory. I am concerned that
if we deploy the Viewer under Tomcat and have a number of users running the
reports, that the number of files in this directory will get extremely
large. What are they used for? If they are not necessary, is there a way
to disable the generation of these files?
