Hi,
thanks for this newsgroup. I've seen that the Model Development Tools
Project is working on a BPMN2 implementation. Why is this project part
of MDT and the BPMN modeler is part of STP?
Or does MDT only provide a metamodel and STP will provide a modeler? I
think that BPMN2 is a very important step in the BPMN history. Are there
any plans for BPMN2?
Greetings
Mike

Hello Michel,
yes, MDT is only working on the metamodel, so Eclipse has a reference
implementation of BPMN 2.0.
We aim to support that metamodel and remain backward compatible at the
same time of course.
Thanks,
Antoine

Hi Antoine,
great news, thanks! Is there a roadmap for BPMN 2?

Hi Michael,
best if you ask them directly. I have added them in CC.
Thanks,
Antoine

The roadmap for BPMN2 is very much dependent on what happens at the OMG. At
this point, I believe the final (supposedly unified) submission is due at
the December technical meeting; this submission will become adopted if
voting is successful, and will likely be the basis for the first release of
the BPMN2 project (0.7), scheduled for June 2009.
