Hello,
It sounds like you might have defined a filter in the data set that uses a
report parameter. This is not a recommended practice - you will get an error
like this when you preview the data set in the Data Set Editor. Such a
filter should be define on the table/list that uses the data set.

If this is not what caused your error please attache a copy of your report
design so we can take a look.
