ClearCase support? [message #9541] Thu, 04 May 2006 08:01 Go to next message

I have noticed that with a M3 build, there is support using CVS for
version control. Are there any plans to support ClearCase as well. This is
a major issue for us now since we try to work with more people on the same
plug-in.

Note to current guide how to use version control (with CC) is just
unworkable in a real project...

It is scheduled for 1.0 M3

Thanks.

Hello Michel. How are things?
Glad to see you interested in EPF. Hope to see more of you in project?
Interested in becoming a contributor?

We will enable EPF Composer to work with all kinds of version control
systems. However, the particular ClearCase client plug-ins for Eclipse are
not open source, so we will not be able to distribute them as part of the
project. However, ClearCase customers will be to use Clearcase with EPF via
IBM supported means.

Hi Peter, I am fine, thanks.

We are currently using EPF to define a 'new' iterative software dev
process for Infineon/Qimonda (for the Manufacturing IT dep.; Qimonda has
now split off Infineon to be the world 2nd largest memory manufacturer),
based on OpenUP and their legacy waterfall "system engineer" process.
Currently we have 3 fulltime team members.

I have already submitted 5 bugs/enhancement for the tool side. We enjoy
working with EPF except for the current lack for multi-user support (which
will come with M3 hopefully).

Sure, will consider the committer job..

Keep up the good work.

BTW Peter, are you guys already thinking on active process support (as
known by IJC)?
