How do I update the list of milestones [message #8734] Tue, 10 July 2007 10:47 Go to next message

Someone creates a ticket, and it is assigned to me. I then want to
assign it to a milestone, but I need to create a new one (in Trac)
so I create it, and then come to the ticket only to discover that the
list of available milestones does not contain the new one I have
just created.

I tried Synchronize, but that does not seem to update the list.

So how should I update the list of available milestones for the dropdown?

Is this the same issue as David Whiteman had? Did you try updating the
attributes in the Task Repository View?

Yes, thats the one. In my circumstances creating new milestones is
something that happens quite often. So it would be useful if this could
be done from the place where I want to use it, i.e. next to the drop down
with the Milestone lists a refresh button would be nice. The same would
be good for any other attributes that might need to be refreshed such
as the list of components, priorities and types.

I agree and think this could be improved by having an "Update
Attributes" button in the Attributes section of the task editor. Please
file a bug:

The "Update Attributes" trick only works for some of my tasks (maybe the
newer ones?). Most of them are stubbornly showing the old milestone list.
The FAQ seems to imply that all I have to do is open them up to refresh
("reopen a task editor"), but that doesn't seem to work. What am I missing?

Dave.

I haven't been able to reproduce this. If Update Attributes is still
failing for you please open a bug. Note that if you do the update via
the Task Repositories view you'll need to close any open editors to see
the updated attributes. If you do it via the button on the Attributes
section of the task editor the attribute settings will be reloaded
without needing to reopen.
