binding key for commands not listed [message #90467] Fri, 29 July 2005 13:06

How can I add key bindings for commands that aren't listed in the Command
area of the Workbench->Keys->Keyboard Shortcuts display? As a specific
example, by default Ctrl+Shift+M will let me create an import statement
for a class. However, I can't find any entries in the Command drop-downs
for this action.

As an alternative, I tried adding my definition to the file
plugins/org.eclipse.jdt.ui_3.0.1/plugin.xml, which is where the default
Ctrl+Shift+M is defined, but that doesn't do it (I copied the XML defining
the default definition and just modified the key sequence definition). In
fact, changing the default entry in this file from Ctrl+Shift+M to
something else doesn't have any effect, so it looks like this file isn't
read when Eclipse starts up.
