It's not possible to run GEF outside Eclipse. If you want to do it, you have
to modify the GEF itself first.

Well, you should at least look into the Eclipse Online Help. If you
downloaded and installed the GEF SDK you will find Draw2D and GEF developers
guide.
On www.eclipse.org/gef you should find a link to a new GEF article. It also
gives a good introduction into GEF.
There is nothing more available yet except some code examples in the Eclipse
Wiki and the GEF example applications.
There will be an upcoming IBM Redbook (ibm.com/redbooks) about Eclipse
development unsing GEF and EMF but the first public release won't be
available before October/November this year. It will be available for
ordering as hard copy or free downloading from ibm.com/redbooks.
Cu, Gunnar
