IWAV0138E Remote VM terminated too soon [message #68807] Sat, 23 October 2004 16:17 Go to next message

I have Windows XP SP2 with a fresh installed Eclipse and VE, all
versions are exactly as stated on the VE page.
I created a new project and then a visual class to test the VE but when
the VE tries to start i get this error message:

IWAV0138E Remote VM terminated too soon

I have found 2 other postings about this topic but it seems they were
slightly different, rebooting doesn't help.

I hope that anyone has an idea because i really want to test the VE.

Please post the .log file from the .metadata directory in your eclipse
workspace directory. This will be useful in diagnosing the issue you're
having.

Hmmm, are you running a firewall? The errors you are getting are the
result of not being able to make a network connection to the localhost.
Try disabling your firewall and see if it works.

it works now, iwas really surprised that i had to add 127.0.0.1 to
ZoneAlarms trusted IPs, i thought localhost is always part of the
trusted range. I had blocked all internet access for the javaw.exe.

thanks

Hmmm, are you running a firewall? The errors you are getting are the
result of not being able to make a network connection to the localhost.
Try disabling your firewall and see if it works.

ZoneAlarms trusted IPs, i thought localhost is always part of the
trusted range. I had blocked all internet access for the javaw.exe.

thanks
