Debugger crash when expanding variable [message #67126] Tue, 22 April 2003 18:46 Go to next message

when trying to expand a private member variable "context" (which is
initialized) in a state pattern implementation the debugger crashes.
The error message is saying "gdb.exe has encountered a problem and needs
to be closed". After this msg box is popped up Eclipse pops up a msg box
saying "Cygwin GDB debugger timedout"

Anybody an idea what is going wrong here?

Other functions of the debugger seem to work fine (single stepping,
breakpoints, etc.)

I am using Eclipse 2.1 and the latest version of CDT in combination with
MingW tools.

Thanks,
CFR

Can you send a test case?
It seems that gdb is crashing when CDT tries to get the information about
your variable.

Thanks
