help with cvs plugin setting files [message #65145] Tue, 17 May 2005 08:41

Hello all,

I'm currently trying to automate the creation, checking out, & eclipse
import of projects through ant. Most of the work is done, barring the
actual details of the eclipse import...there seems to be a multitude of
settings & hidden files that need updating or creating before eclipse, and
its plugins, will recognise the project properly. Firstly, although all
the CVS directories are present within the newly created project, eclipse
is not recognising the project as a cvs project (as if it were checked out
through eclipse). It happily ignores the CVS directories, as it should do,
but there are no entries in the 'team' menu, or in the 'cvs' tab in the
project preferences. If I checkout anything into that project (through
eclipse), it suddenly treats the entire project as required...but I'd
rather not have to do that. On snooping around the metadata folder, I
found that the .properties file and .syncinfo may be the files that
contain the information...but these files are binary...which is really
unhelpful.

Secondly, although I can create (from a template) the .project & classpath
files, eclipse, even when restarted, will not add project to its existing
list of projects. Again, there seems to be some files hidden away that
contain that information.

If anyone knows where these files are, or possibly how these files can be
created, I'd be greatly appreciative,

Thanks,

Michael Dodsworth.
