Eclipse (2.1) crashed while trying to recompile a big project. When I
restarted it, the project was closed. I tried to open it but I got an
error saying that the ".project file is missing. This file contains
important information and is needed to open this project...".
Is there a copy of this file somewhere? I would really hate it if I had
to recreate this project from scratch...
Thanks.

The important file is the .classpath file. If you create a new project in
the same location as the old project, Eclipse will use the existing
..classpath file. Save the .classpath file to be safe.
