Hi folks,

I just want to take a moment to reiterate that the CDT only officially
supports Eclipse 2.0.x (2.0.1 & 2.0.2 specifically). At this point in time
the CDT does NOT officially support any flavour Eclipse 2.1 (... M4, M5 etc)

The CDT does not have the same level of integration with Eclipse that the
JDT does.

As a result, the CDT must be developed in much the same way that ISV
(Independent Software Vendors) must develop their applications that are
based on Eclipse. In other words, the CDT promises to fully support the last
released version of Eclipse as soon as possible after its release.

The latested release of Eclipse is 2.0.2 ... not the milestone builds
(...M4, M5 etc)

That said ...

We realize that many intrepid developers like to live on the edge and
routinely update their Eclipse development environments with the latest
builds.

We appreciate the feedback and comments that these early adopters share with
us. Their feedback is invaluable, when it comes to move forward.

Many of our developers also develop using the latest Eclipse builds in order
to be more prepared for the changes that will be required in the future.

We do strive to make our builds compatible with the largest possible set of
Eclipse builds. This becomes increasingly difficult when Eclipse is nearing
a major release. Many new features, functionality and refactoring goes into
the platform at this stage.

We appreiciate your patience and feedback as we move forward with the CDT.

-Judy ... for the CDT Team

Speaking for myself, I'd rather see CDT officially support the versions that
people are currently using, including the most recent stable version of the
previous Eclipse release and the latest milestone version of the release
currently being developed. In fact I'm not even sure that the non-stable CDT
builds (nightly, etc.) need to support the back-level Eclipse releases
because you can always use the stable CDT that goes with that stable SDK.
