Hi

IMHO the easiest way to get the examples is pulling them from CVS:

- change to the "CVS Repository Exploring" perspective
- Add a new Repository Location by right clicking in the CVS
Repositories view
- Data needed:
- Connection type: pserver
- User: anonymous
- Host: dev.eclipse.org
- Repository path: /home/eclipse
- Now open the repository (HEAD) and look forthe exmaple you want
- right click on the example project you would like to have and select
"Check Out" or "Check out as..." (if you want it to have another name
in your workspace.
(if you don't want the latest development version of the exmaples, open
"Versions" instead and check out the desired version)

Hope this helps

Hi Michael, thanks for the tip. That would be ideal, as i could see the
whole repository. unfortunately i'm getting 'Cannot connect to host' when
connecting to the repository.

i'm going thru a proxy connection (firewall), which i've configured under
preferences. i know that is working, becuz i was able to 'Find and
Install', and update the latest version, 3.02, from the eclipse site.

please excuse my ignorance, i'm fairly new to eclipse. is a password
required for the connection? I tried blank, and my newsgroup password,
both failed. no doubt something simple

thanks much for your time.

Hi Csaba, thanks for the response. i tried what you said, and can find no
search option on the downloads page. i used the seach option from the
eclipse home page, got some links to newsgroup posts requesting the same
thing, such as:

http://download.eclipse.org/downloads/drops/S-M5-20030206170 0/download.php?dropFile=eclipse-examples-M5.zip)
and
http://download.eclipse.org/downloads/drops/S-M5-20030206170 0/index.php

but got 404's on both links.

internet).

Hope this helps

Hi,

For search I mean the search option in the browser itself :)

For example, if you want to download the examples for Eclipse 3.0.2, go to
its download page:
http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.0.2- 200503110845/index.php
(url may wrap), and in this page you can find an 'Examples Plug-ins' header
(with grey background).
Other (e.g 3.1 milestone builds) download pages contain this as well.

The pages you mentioned below does not exist any more (they are two years
old milestone pages).

HTH,
Regards,
Csaba
