Hi,

Anyone seeing this crash?

I'm running:
eclipse 3.0.1, with the GEF, ENF, VE 1.0 from the VE download page. Also
using VM j2sdk1.4.2_04.

I'm creating a composite, then overlay it with groups, then with the
groups overlay with text or textarea. I see about everytime that I use
the 'renamefield' menu option. It crashes the VM, and restarts. Just
annoying.

Here's some info, if you need something else, please let me know.

I haven't been able to reproduce this problem, but I did produce similar
type errors which cause a reload to occur. I don't think a crash of the
VM occurred, but something similar happened, which is a reload occurred.
On a reload we often use the same vm and just start over.

However, because we are getting reload, this is a performance problem,
so we opened a bugzilla for it.

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=74862

As for the other problem, unfortunately those traces don't give any info
as to what happen. There was an access to invalid memory location from
native code, but we have no idea where this occurred. Does this occur
more than once?

Hi Rich,

Thanks very much for your prompted reply and pointer to the bug.

So far I've only had the second isue occur one time. I'll let you know
if it happens again. The symptoms were, I minimized the Eclipse window
to expose the test dialog. Not sure if I double clicked on a button, but
mouse and keyboard froze for the whole system. I ended up power-cycle to
recover.

Thanks again,
frank
