JUnit failure trace: line cropped after 240 characters [message #55953] Fri, 13 June 2003 04:53 Go to next message

I read that here are the gurus, so I ask here.

The problem is the JUnit view. The failure trace is cropped if a line is
longer than 240 characters.

Of course I can copy the stack trace and paste it to the editor as a
workaround, but this is no solution to me. I also can rewrite the JUnit
tests to print the stack trace on the console instead to pass it to the
JUnit framework. This is no solution for me too.

Is there any way to enable the JUnit view to print more than 240 characters
on one line instead of cropping it?

The problem applies both to Eclipse 2.0.2 and Eclipse 2.1.

I doubt that JUnit view cuts the text. Most likely this limitation comes
from the OS or SWT. I suggest to file a bug report against Platform SWT.
