Shared Development Environment [message #55197] Tue, 19 April 2005 21:16

I'm about to set up a shared development environment for a group of web
developers. The eclipse IDE with plug-ins is installed on each developer's
Windows machine. The web site files are checked into CVS. The app server
development instance (Jboss/Tomcat on Linux) is set up with a samba mount at
the Jboss deploy directory. What are best practice approaches for sharing a
common development instance. For example, would developers utilize their
own eclispe workspace containing a copy of the site files, deploying these
files to the common dev instance (common deployment) as changes are made?
Site file changes made on this dev instance will only be checked into CVS
once they are ready for QA.

Thanks in advance
