You do have to wait til September for a release version of AspectJ 5 and
AJDT 1.3. But you can use AJDT on Eclipse 3.1 today, by picking up the
latest development build, from here:
http://www.eclipse.org/ajdt/downloads/#dev
These builds contain everything from AJDT 1.2, plus a little extra, as we
develop towards upcoming releases 1.2.1 for Eclipse 3.0 and 1.3 for
Eclipse 3.1. Of course they are classified as development build, not
release builds, because they are not as well tested as release builds. But
they are fairly widely used, and we have an ever-expanding test suite
which is run against each build.

Matt.

Matt,
I thought AJDT 1.2.1 would be the official release for Eclipse 3.1 but
you sound like we have to wait until AJDT 1.3. Is that correct ?

Sébastien,
The AJDT 1.2 release stream is to be for Eclipse 3.0 only. The current
development builds do have 1.2.1.xxxx build IDs, for both Eclipse 3.0 and
3.1, but before we can get to a release version for Eclipse 3.1, we need
to branch the codebase in order to make some 3.1-specific changes. So AJDT
1.2.1 will be for Eclipse 3.0, and AJDT 1.3 will be for Eclipse 3.1. In
addition, AJDT 1.3 will also be the official release for AspectJ 5, and we
plan to release as soon after the AspectJ 5 release as possible - hence
the September date.
Regards,
Matt.
