I'm new to CVSNT, Websphere and Eclipse, I have a new CVSNT server running
on Windows 2003 and a test server with CVSNT also running CVSNT, the real
one has SSH2 from Tectia and the test one has OpenSSH, from a Windows
client PC to the test one I get the following message:
Error validating location: CVSNT repository
'extssh:username@servername:/cvsrepo' is configured to use a repository
prefix. However, CVSNT does not always properly communicate resource paths
in this mode resulting in the failure of some specialized Eclipse CVS
operations. The use of a repository prefix should be disable if the full
functionality of the eclipse CVSNT is desired"
From the real one, it seems everything works but when I click on 'HEAD"
there is nothing.
Can anyone help??!!!

I'm more or less in the same boat. I installed CVSNT 2.5.01 on a Windows
Server 2003, and connected to it with pserver protocol from Eclipse 3.0.1
on Win XP Pro. The error message I received when I tried top connect was
the same one you reported, so I looked in the CVSNT Help index for
"repository prefix". Neither of the two hits even contained the word
"prefix" in the text.
Eventually I found an archived article with the following quote:
If you use a new CVSNT (i.e. 2.x) then look at the CVS control
panel under the compatibility tag and check the "Respond as cvs
... to version request" checkbox.
That at least allowed me to check the project in to CVSNT, but the CVS
Repository Browsing perspective remains unable to expand the tree.
I tried using an older version of CVSNT (2.0.62), but it appears to be
incompatible with Windows Server 2003; the services refused to start.
Has anyone else had experiences that might shed some light on the problem?
Other than adding a unix or linux server, that is. That's not really an
option in this instance.
