I downloaded eclipse-platform-2.1-win32.zip from the central resource on
Monday, the 26th.
Eclipse 2.o works properly in my environment.
Does anybody have an idea about a possible cause?

You need to download the SDK, not the platform. The platform zip does not
contain java development tools.

If you want the development environment, you want to download eclipse-SDK,
not eclipse-platform. The download page states \"The Java development
tools and Plug-in Development Environment are NOT included\" when talking
about eclipse-platform.
