I need to do the following.
While the user edits some code in a workflow document (in XML) and is in the
process of adding a certain XML tag that corresponds to a variable defined
in a data definition file, I need my plugin to pop up a dialog box if it
cannot find that variable defined in the data definition file.
My guess is that I will need to have some kind of parser active while the
user is editing the workflow document that will search the list of variables
in the data defn. file once the user has finished typing the tag. I don't
know how to go about doing this.
Your help is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Jai,
This question is completely unrelated to the XSD model, as far as I can
tell. I'm not sure why you are asking it here?
