Any chance of adding Firefox support to the Web Browser Plugin as
standard - rather than having individuals build their own?

If not, perhaps someone who has got it working could make a download
available?

Hi Mike,

Your best bet is to open a defect/feature request against WST in bugzilla
(http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs) to add Firefox support. You can then post
the bug number to this thread and get people to vote for your defect. You
may even find someone on this thread will be ambitious and provide a fix.

It can easily be defined in the preference menus. All that can be built in is a
definition for firefox in the 'normal' windows location (//Program Files/...etc)
so some would have to locally define it anyways. There is already a bug (73845)
defined against MAC OS X, which has other issues as well.

But this would launch the browser as an independent app window, right? I
assume the original poster wanted Firefox to be used as the embedded view
instead of IE. If that's not what he has asking, then I'll state it as my
request...

Hi guys,

A couple comments:

* For the default locations of external browsers (stored in
defaultBrowsers.xml), Firefox has been added. Please check a recent build,
and if there is anything else that needs to be added (for instance, I don't
think we have the Linux default install locations), please feel free to open
up a bugzilla in WebTools/wst.internet and I'll add it quickly.

* For the internal browser support, we're using the Eclipse Browser widget,
which uses IE on Windows and Mozilla on other platforms. To use Firefox
here, please open up a defect directly against Eclipse SWT.
