I must have missed it...

In the new New Project dialog, second page: Project Contents, use default,
directory

points to /home/username/workspace

Sadly, I don't keep my projects there, so I must unclick default and type in
the correct location every time. Boring.

I searched through the Eclipse options but I couldn't find a place to change
the default directory. Is there one?

include a -data /path/to/my/workspace argument on the command line. Eclipse
will use this for your workspace.
