but I dont find 'TaiPan Diagram' in the Examples folder of the New dialog of
my runtime instance- all I see is "Ecore Diagram" under Examples.

The package explorer shows project:
org.eclipse.gmf.examples.taipan 2006/06/27 00:00:00 [dev.eclipse.org]

Under its model folder it shows:
taipan.ecore 1.3 (ASCII -kk)
taipan.genmodel 1.4 (ASCII -kk)
taipan.gmfgen 1.61 (ASCII -kk)
taipan.gmfgraph 1.19 (ASCII -kk)
taipan.gmfmap 1.19 (ASCII -kk)
taipan.gmftool 1.7 (ASCII -kk)
taipan.trace 1.3 (ASCII -kk)

Any clues as to why I can't run Taipan?

Hi Martyn,

The Tutorial has detailed instuctions on how to get the source from the
Eclipse CVS server, the example is not in the GMF download.
