Hi all,

I'm trying to get familiar with the Mylyn monitor. Our marketing
department would like to know which parts of our Eclipse RCP application
have been used most frequently. So I thought the Mylyn monitor could do
this job.

I had some difficulties to find any example on how to create a simple
Hello world example where I can track the usage of some buttons or text
fields and afterwards use the Mylyn monitor reporting tool to show the
results of the usage.

I would be grateful if someone could post a link or a simple example on
how to use the monitor.

Regars,
Eugen

Have you looked at the Eclipse Usage Data Collector that ships with
Ganymede packages now?

Hi Chris,

I had indeed a look at UDC and it looked really interesting but as there
was no "developer guide" on how to use this tool for own RCP applications
I thought I'll give Mylyn monitor a try. But as I already described I
didn't find some examples either.

If you are able to provide an example on how to use UDC in own RCP
applications and how to report the usage results I would be really
grateful for your help!

Cheers,
Eugen

The best you can get right now is probably the code:

http://www.eclipse.org/epp/usagedata/faq.php

There is a Team Project Set file which will give you the code.

You can try to ask the question on the EPP newsgroups where the UDC
project is hosted. I'm sure the EPP guys along with Wayne Beaton can
help you with your needs.

Good luck.

Cheers,

~ Chris
