CDT Installation Problem [message #45672] Thu, 17 October 2002 16:55 Go to next message

I'm having problems with the current build of CDT. I unzipped CDT into the
eclipse directory, then I get the Update Manager automatically pop up. It
shows a red X over the update, and when I get details on the problem it
says:

Problem Occurred: Requested operation cannot be performed because it would
invalidate the current configuration.

Details says:
Eclipse C/C++ Development Tools (1.0.0): Feature requires plug-in
"org.eclipse.jdt.doc.user"

I previously set up a project in eclipse and added 2 external tools, but
that's it. I'm not very experienced with Eclipse (<2 days). Any ideas what
to do next?

Hi Brian,
In order to run the CDT you must have installed the Eclipse version that is
an SDK. Not the smaller version that does not include the JDK (Platfor
Runtime Binary).

Can you tell me exactly what version of eclipse you have installed?
The current downloads of CDT will only work with Eclipse version 2.0.1 (the
latest stable build of the SDK), which was build on 29 Aug 2002 (build ID ==
200208291828)

Thanks

-Judy
