Is it possible to use the lastest versions of AJDT with older versions of
AspectJ? I'm on a project that uses an older version of AspectJ with a few
modifications added in. However, I'd like to use Eclipse 3.1M4 as my IDE.
This would require the latest version of AJDT.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will be possible. We have been making
changes in the interfaces between AspectJ and AJDT to give better
integration and your older AspectJ won't have those changes in.

It is *possible*, depending on where your changes are, that you could
patch up the aspectj (with a jar -uvf) in AJDT to include them but I'd
need more details on what your modifications are to confirm whether it
is worth trying that.

AJDT for 3.1M4 uses the recent AspectJ 1.5.0M1 build. How old is the
AspectJ you are using? Is it a modified 1.2.1?

cheers,
Andy.

That is what I figured but it was worth a shot. Our version is based off
of 1.2.0 and was built back in October. We are going to upgrade it at some
point but I was hoping I could find an alternative until then.
