hello,

i want to make a second page on my report, but the only way i see is to
make an label (or something else) and set the page break element for this
label to "After: always". this works, but to style the second page (in
this case) is very comlicated. how can i make a second page in the
"layout" perspective??

thanks for your help, bernhard

Bernhard,

Report contents just flow into pages, and you get automatic page breaks
when a page is filled. To get a second page when your data really fits
into one page, you would have to explicitly insert a page break, and the
standard way in printing is to ask to "always break" after a report item.

I do not fully understand your comment that the second page is quite
complicated to style. In R1, BIRT does not support page sequence, which
might have contributed to the difficulty.

BIRT is designed with page sequences (See Page Setup spec), so you can
design a different master page for the second page in the future.

stanley,

thanks for your answer. but i have a problem with the master page footer
on the second page (after the page break "always" tag) - in my pdf it
isn't shown on the second page, but if i make another page break element
on the second page, the third page footer is shown. i don't know why this
is so. i hope you can help me...

in layout tab the report is much longer than one a4 page!

thanks for you help and please excuse my english, it is not my native
language!

Hi, Bernhard,

Can you log a Bugzilla entry attaching your report? Please make sure your
report is self-contained (i.e., does not require your database to
reproduce) so that we can check out what is happening.
