Hello!

I've just downloaded org.eclipse.cdt_20020826.zip. I have Eclipse R2 on
Linux (GTK version). I've copied the features and plugins dirs into my
eclipse dir, restarted eclipse, but there is no C/C++ perspective. What
have I done wrong?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Stelian,

Pardon the "obvious" questions...

1.) You should be able to just unzip the entire archive into the Eclipse
install directory. By copying files, something may have been missed.

2.) Sometimes that perspective does not show in the main list and you have
the click "Other" and then select "C C++ Development"

3.) When you go to Help > About Eclipse Platform > and press on "Plugin
Details", what if any references are their to C++?

Ok, I just unzip the archive in the eclipse directory.

It is not there, I've checked.

There is no reference to C or C++ plug-ins.

Hi Stelian,

You might want to open up the update manager (Help->software update->update
manager).
In the "Install Configuration", click the second rightmost button at the top
of
the window (show disabled features) and see if the CDT feature appears as
"disabled".
If so, just enable it and restart eclipse.

It is, indeed, disabled. The question is how do I enable it? In the right,
it, under Installed Version, it says: Not installed. But the plgins and
the features are in the right directories. So, I don't know how to install
(or enable) it.

I believe that if you go in the right pane ("Preview"), there will be a
button or
link that you can click to enable a disabled feature.
