Are there any real world deployments using RAP, or is it too early. I am
planning to use Google Web Toolkit for the interface component of a project,
but want to determine if RAP should be considered.

of course should RAP be considered;) But rather in the near future than
right now. As You said, it is too early for real world scenarios.
We will release our first milestone aproximately next week. As You might
have seen there is an online demo, and, of course, You can check out the
sources from CVS (see http://www.eclipse.org/rap/cvs.php).
