Is there anyway to rebuild Eclipse's references/declarations database for
a particular project? Yesterday I mistakenly opened a large file in the
text editor, which caused eclipse to run out of heap space and quit. Since
then, the references/declarations database has been useless, which also
seems to effect just about all autocomplete stuff as well.
I'm using Galileo for plain old Java development on Windows, but I've run
into this problem with just about every version of eclipse I've ever used.
My solution in the past has been to delete my project and check out
another copy, but that's not really an option right now.

To rebuild the JDT indexes, you can also just close and reopen the
affected project(s).
