Can someone please tell me the difference between navigator and project
explorer.
I do not know which one I should choose for a perspective I am creating.

Thanks,
Ron

Ron,

The Navigator gives more of a raw workspace view of the resource
structure, while the navigator shows more of a logical view provided by
contributions from various projects to show logical structure, e.g., for
Java it shows the packages flat rather than as a deeply nested set of
folders.

Ed,

Thanks for your reply.

As far as I know Java uses the Package Explorer. I am asking about
navigator and project explorer. To my eyes they look the same.

I just cannot believe Eclipse give the same implementation in two
different ways. There must be a difference that I do not see.

I believe Resource Navigator view is deprecated as of 3.5 and Project
Explorer is the alternative.

Ron,

The project explorer to my eyes shows the source folder with flattened
packages just like the package explorer but unlike the navigator. Isn't
that right?
