Accessing update site from behind firewall [message #335319]

Eclipse User

I can access an external update site from inside a firewall in IE and
Firefox. Likewise in eclipse's internal web browser. I've set the Network
Connections preference page to use our proxy server on port 8001 but the
update manager still cannot access the update site.

Does the update manager work on a port other than port 80? Has anyone
been able to configure their system to access update sites through a
firewall? We have mirrored the site internally for now but this is not a
viable long-term solution.
