Hello,

is it possible to search in Eclipse 3.4.2 for files, which are located
outside the workspace, i. e. only in the filesystem of the OS?
Of course it's possible to search for files "directly", e. g. with the
Explorer in Windows, but it would be more convenient to search for them in
Eclipse and afterwords to open and display them in the text editor of
Eclipse - if possible.

There is no option currently available to search outside a workspace,
although it won't be an impossible task to provide one.
BTW I use Google Desktop, which is very fast and easily accesible. I doubt
that I would switch to an Eclipse plugin over this :-)
