Since we want to write test cases using an embedded Tomcat server, the
plugin org.eclipse.tomcat would be very helpful. However since Eclipse's
help system now uses Jetty instead of Tomcat, the org.eclipse.tomcat was
finally removed since Eclipse 3.4.

My question now is: does anyone remember why Eclipse migrated from
Tomcat to Jetty? maybe because it was not possible to migrate
org.eclipse.tomcat from Tomcat4.x to Tomcat 6.x?

Does anyone know if Jetty is faster compared to Tomcat (maybe this was a
migration reason)?

Or were insuperable ClassLoader problems the reason to get rid of Tomcat
? (see http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=173080)

Thanks for any ideas!

Jörg
have a look at the discussion about Tomcat here:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=138390

I think that the main reason was the Jetty files size compared to Tomcat.
