Hi,
In a compartment, if I drag child figures out of its range, it
automatically scrolls over. However, I need the compartment area be fixed,
that is, user can't drag child figures out of its range.
How to achieve this?

Do you really need a compartment than? Perhaps, plain child figure would do
the trick?

When I don't use a compartment, I can move / resize the child figures
outside of the boundaries of their parent figure. Is there a way to
prevent this?

You can prevent resize with gmfgraph.Node's resizeConstraints (set to
NONE).
Move will take some GEF coding efforts, though
