Not able to close Eclipse process on Windows XP [message #332544] Mon, 27 October 2008 18:51 Go to next message

I am experiencing a weird problem on Windows XP -- I am not able to shut
down Eclipse (3.3.1) process anymore. I clicked on the close button and it
prompted me to confirm whether I want to close the workspace. I confirmed
it and the window closed. Then I tried to open Eclipse again only to find
out that the workspace is still in use. After digging around a bit, I was
surprised to see the process is still there according to task manager. I
believe this happened in the last few days and appear to be coincident
with an XP autoupdate. Does anyone experience similar problem (I also got
some NullPointerException when I open/close dialogs but not sure yet if
it's related)? How to fix it? Any help appreciated.
It was a spyware. [message #332546 is a reply to message #332544] Mon, 27 October 2008 23:58 Go to previous message

Finally figured it out. It was a spyware. Have no idea how it got into my
system without triggering any warning from all those scanner shields.
Anyway glad to have it off my system. Eclipse appears to be working fine
again.
