Hi Charles,
when we first launched EPF, we stated that one of our objectives was to
build a library of practices, and we had discussions with Jim Highsmith and
other agile leaders regarding that. However, it is non-trivial to implement
the concept... :)
IJC has done interesting work in this area, and they have expressed interest
in contributing some of their work to EPF. We have discussions wrt to that,
and what changes that would require to EPF Composer. We are also separately
looking at that concept, and IBM has built some prototypes in this area, and
I presented a little on that in my PPM02 session at our user conference. We
already have most of the aspect-oriented and other concepts in EPF Composer,
but to really support practices as a first class citizen, more work is
required. We can implement it in today's tool, but we would like to provide
a more inttuitive support for it....
So, this is definetely on our radar, but we have no committed plans on when
to go down that path...
I still believe in our original vision to build up a library of pratices,
and being able to mic-and-match practices from various processes to your
liking...
