Hi!

I moved lately to M7, and I noticed that the workbench (in comparison
with M6) has become somehow more unstable. I'm cannot find a pattern to
reproduce these behaviours, but seem easy to appear. I'm using Eclipse
3.4 M7 (I20080502-0100) and Windows XP SP2

First I noticed that, just a few times, one view became crashed and the
all it's buttons dissapear. Then the whole workbench became unstable and
had to force it's closing. I got to do this only two times. I've tried,
but can get to reproduce it now.

What I get most is and odd behaviour with pop-up menus. Try it: clean
installation M7. Execute it, create new java project in Java
perspective, and then right click over it in the project explorer. The
one the options that I see is "Create Watch Expression"! Doesn't that
belong to debug perspective?

The most critic problem I've found with pop-up menus regarding M7 is
something that only appears when a tree view has plenty of nodes: when
pointing with the mouses' over sub-menus witch initially seemed enabled,
the submenu becomes disabled (grey color) and I cannot enter it. In this
case, it happened to me in two different cases: within the project
explorer, in a workspace I have with more than 60 plugin projects (for
instance, "Team", "Source", "Refactor" or "New"). It also happened to me
in the generated editor by EMF.editor ("create child" or "create
sibling" become disabled once I pointed over it with the mouse cursor).
Curiously enought, you can avoid this problem if your are fast enough to
be able to click over the submenu option before the popup delay time ends.

All this is very strange, and I don't know if I'm being clear. Try
putting many projects in the workspace and then right-clicking and
trying to access submenus.

I'll try to make a video, it might be more clarifying.

Regards to the best open source community!

Víctor.

This has been fixed in RC3 ... the workbench delays plugin loaded as
much as possible, but that means some contributions visible/enabled
clauses are not accurate (until the plugin is loaded).
