I am working on a plugin where I have created a remote file system. When
I add linked resources to this file system into a project, the copy option
is disabled in the Project Explorer. This is good for me, however, you
are still able to copy any folders that contain these linked resources.
This causes a problem because if you then try to paste this folder
somewhere, you get an error message saying: "Copy Problems: While
executing the operation, an exception occurred."
Just to be sure this is not an issue with the way I was implementing my
file system, I installed the Remote System Explorer/Target Management
(RSE) plugin and verified the behavior for this plugin is the same.
So I'm not sure what the correct behavior should be here, and suspect a
bug in eclipse. Should the Project Explorer view prevent the user from
copying folders containing remotely-linked resources? Is this exception
while trying to copy them a bug, or could I be missing something in my
implementation of my file system?
