Automatic updates - there are sooo many of them [message #32579] Thu, 10 March 2005 17:01
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi, (my first post in this ng)

I was recently pointed at Eclipse and downloaded 3.0.1. Having navigated my
way through the installation, I figured it would be good to turn on
Automatic Update Search, for each time Eclipse starts. Was this wise?

What I have found is that it has been through a dozen updates (not exact,
but certainly a lot) and each update requires me to restart Eclipse. Is
there a way to grab the latest cummulative Automatic update without having
to go through the lengthy restart cycle.

I have another machine (or two) that I would like to install Eclipse on. I
am also wondering whether I can simply copy the entire Eclipse directory
tree (with all the updates) to other machines?

Thanks for your insight.
Matt.
